About Us

Eye Health is our Main Goal

Welcome to Africa Humanitarian Medical Corps (AHMC)
Restoring sight, preventing blindness, and expanding access to quality eye care across Africa.

At AHMC, we believe everyone deserves the right to see clearly. Founded by Dr. Bildad Okwama, a practicing ophthalmologist, AHMC delivers free eye screenings, cataract surgeries, and community eye health education to underserved communities across the continent.

Join us in our mission to eliminate avoidable blindness and empower communities through the gift of sight.

"I had been living with cataracts for three years and could barely see my grandchildren's faces. The AHMC surgical camp restored my sight in a single day. I can finally see clearly again, and I'm forever grateful."

JM
Jane M., Kisumu

"As a community health volunteer trained by AHMC, I now screen dozens of patients a month and refer them for treatment before they lose their sight. This training changed how I serve my community."

DO
David O., Volunteer

"My daughter's vision problems were caught early during a school screening by AHMC. Without that visit, we would never have known she needed glasses. Her grades have improved so much since."

AT
Angela T., Parent
